Houses to rent in Andalucia, Spain

Region: La Axarquia

Welcome to Andalucia!

Our houses to rent are located in the "Axarquía" region that streches along the Costa del Sol from Málaga in the west to Nerja in the east.

Its mountainous hinterland is still unspoilt and authentic and one of the traditional white washed villages is Cútar with its 600 inhabitants.

The inhabitants of Cútar live mainly from agriculture. Because of our mild climate they grow Mangos, Avocados, Citrics and Grapes from which the very famous Malaga wine is elaborated.

To spend your holidays here means to be close to the sunny beaches and touristic infrastructure and yet very quiet and peaceful in the Andalucian country environment.

The surrounding nature of our houses invites for hiking and walking, bird watching, relaxing. A huge variety of sports is offered on the coast, golf is very popular and any type of water sports can be exercised.

We will be glad to offer you organic mangos, avocados und citric from our own plantations.

Try the tasty Andalucian food and tapas in one of the typical bars or in a restaurant along the coast!

WHITE WASHED VILLAGES

The region of the Axarquía includes 31 municipalities which are mostly lovely white washed villages. They are all worth visiting and the roads from one to the other very often lead you through breathtaking landscapes up and down the mountains.

Each village is special. The daily life in their steep and narrow streets is picturesque, most people live of agriculture and as the vineyards and olive groves are steep you will still see the farmers doing their work with mules instead of tractors.

EXCURSIONS

From our houses excursions can be made to Malaga, Seville, Granada and Cordoba to visit historic and cultural highlights of Andalucia or just for some relaxed shopping.

Andalucia has a long and interesting history and still many traces of the past can be visited. Many cities have been founded almost 3000 years ago and 700 years of moorish influence have formed the Andalucian architecture, the music and even the language.

Málaga is a lively harbour city that offers cultural attractions as well as historical monuments, shopping malls and many bars and restaurants. Amongst many others the Picasso museum - founded in honour of the most famous son of the city - is worth visiting and the house where he was born.

Granada is famous for its Moorish Alhambra Palace. This impressive fortress has been built by the Moorish souvereigns and has been extended throughout the centuries.

In Seville the "Semana Santa" during the Easter week with its processions and feria is one of the most important annual events. But there are more cultural events and historic monuments to discover, as there is for example the cathedral "Giralda" and the "Alcazaba".

Córdoba is unique for its "Mezquita Catedral". This is an ancient moorish mosque with a christian cathedral in its main court in the middle of the building.
